ZSIM.de shutdown

The XMPP/Jabber service by zockerstube.net called zsim.de will be shut down on December 1, 2019.

10 years ago in 2009 we started a jabber server for the people around zockerstube.net and it was open for everyone. Later the webinterface on zsim.de followed.

The decision to shut the service down was not easy because XMPP is a great protocol and big steps were made to bring it to mobile devices. However the users have replaced it by other solutions as the following statistic shows.

In the past year we reached not even 20 connected users and the service needs attention. Recently the webinterface for registrations and password resets went broken. Due to the low usage I am not motivated to bring the service back to glory.

So this is it for zsim.de. Thank you for 10 years.
